Growing up in a Mornington Peninsula family that managed sheep and cattle properties, Sam has a long-held connection to the land. After earning a degree in agricultural science, he went on to build a career that has included roles in production agronomy, export strategy, protected cropping and industry advocacy. Notably, Sam has held leadership positions in organisations throughout Australian agriculture, which leaves him well-placed to source the best talent for the industry.
Sam’s diverse background enables him to support clients with insights into both on-the-ground farming practices and broader commercial strategies. His deep networks within agriculture – combined with a passion for people-focused solutions – make him uniquely equipped to assist agribusinesses in sourcing exceptional talent, and his career has been marked by his ability to bridge practical farming knowledge with corporate expertise. From writing export strategies for key horticultural industries to advocating for greenhouse growers in government forums, Sam has been at the forefront of driving innovation and efficiency in agriculture, and harnesses his knowledge to find outstanding people solutions for clients in Victoria and beyond.
Passionate about sparking conversations on careers in agriculture, Sam is particularly interested in tackling the challenge of getting younger people involved in the industry..In his spare time, Sam remains hands-on in the agricultural sector through consulting and farm management – maintaining his connection to practical farming and giving him a unique perspective on the workforce challenges faced by agribusinesses.
